State-run nurseries (Llars d'infants)
Public nurseries which take babies from the age of 4 months to 3 years. Places are much in demand and a points system is used. Very rarely are part-time options available with a minimum of 5 hours a day in most cases. Application forms are available from the nursery of choice.

Private nurseries (Llars d'infants)
Private nurseries which take babies from ages 4 months to 3 years. Normally a little more expensive than the public nurseries but part-time options are usually available. A fee (around 150 euros) is required to reserve a place for the following year. Application forms available from the nursery of your choice.

State-run nurseries (Parvulari)
Public nurseries which take children up until the age of 6, often in combination with Llars d'infants. 3-6 years is for the first ‘cycle’ at school, from 3-6 years (P-3, P-4 and P-5 and is non-compulsory)
