What is the philosophy of Noah´s Ark?
At Noah's Ark we believe that every child has an innate desire to explore and learn, so we use this natural curiosity as a starting point for our teaching. We educate children using the "active methodology" model, as integrated approach that enables children to develop emotional, physical, and intellectual autonomy. Our educators are trained to respect the natural rhythms of each child, whilst also encouraging the children to participate in daily routines and develop positive habits.
From what age until what age do you accept children?
We take children from 4 month old up to three years old
What language is used in the main?
We offer our program in English. We use Spanish and Catalan to support the adaptation process and the children confidence
What is the teacher/child ratio in each class?
Our classes have a maximum of 15 children, with an main teacher and a specialize assistant. That means our ratio is 8 to 1
Is there flexibility in hours for daycare?
Yes. There are as many options as families needs.
Are there part-time options (days)?
The time tables could go from the full time attendance (from 9 to 17), extra hours (8 to 9 or 17 to 18) to part time: just mornings or afternoons / 1- 2- 3 or 4 days per week.
What type of food is offered to children?
Noah's Ark offers homemade food, cooded daily in our Center
What kind of activities are available to children?
We include in our regular curriculum music, psychomotor activities and gardening.
Do you need to live in Esplugues to send your child to Noah´s Ark?
No. Everybody is welcome in Noah's Ark.
How does Noah´s Ark differ from other nurseries in Barcelona?
Firsts of all, our love for children. Cultural diversity. English as the main language and a wonderful setting, full of light, fresh air, spacious classrooms, open playing areas, playground equipment, sandbox, plant nursery. Cybercontact ( real time observation of the children via internet)
Are parents allowed to come in to nursery classes if they like?
The success of Noah's Ark in part depends on the relationship between the families and the center. We believe that direct communication with families is an important part of the education process and enhance our ability to give each child personalized attention. Parents are ask to stay in our center during the adaptation process and are welcome to participate in special activities.
At what stage do you require parents to apply for a place for the following year?
The pre-enrollment starts in March / April (previous year)
What are the fees?
Fees depend on attendance
2007 /2008
Full time (9 to 17): 420 euros/month (includes lunch and afternoon snack)
Part time (9 to 12) : 250 euros/month
