Tutor Kids (Putxet)

- What is the philosophy of Tutor Kids?
TK has a defined course outline which focuses upon developing the vocabulary and ability of children to communicate. This is based upon research which has identified that a child’s brain is highly developed in these areas in the early part of their lives, as such we are focusing upon the area of development that we feel the brain is most focused upon and most receptive too. In addition we pay a lot of attention to children’s physical abilities and strength (especially babies, necks, legs arms etc) and their co-ordination skills, through formal ball games and golf. The method of development is based around play, singing and creative arts in a comfortable, friendly and caring environment

 - From what age until what age do you accept children?
Children from 4mths to 3years

 - What language is used in the main?
Spanish and Catalan with specific activities in English for 1-2 year olds 1or 2 times a week and for 2-3 year olds 2-3 times a week

 - What is the teacher/child ratio in each class?
Approximately 8-10 per teacher. (Some larger classes have two teachers)

 - What is the aproxímate ratio of International/local children in Tutor Kids?
2/3 local spanish  1/3 international

 - Is there flexibility in hours for daycare?
Yes there is absolute flexibility but for commercial reason there is a minimum fee equivalent to 4 hours per day upto 9 hours. Special arrangement are made for specific stays ( we are always flexible) i.e. one day or for a whole month etc prices set upon application but in line with regular fees.

 - Can you give us an idea of what food is offered to children?
Food is provided by an approved outsourced caterer and is typically pasta, meat vegetables, with fruit and yogurts as snacks.

 
- What kind of activities are available?
Activities in addition to English include, coordination classes, swimming, introduction to computers and special trips in the summer.

 - How does Tutor Kids differ from other nurseries in Barcelona?
Differentiating features, we are one of the few completely licensed guardarias in BCN, we have a philosophy geared towards giving children a head start by the time they enter into preschool, clearly defined educational objectives, entire purpose fitted building dedicated to children, webcams and daily communication in the childs diary.

 - Are parents allowed to come in to nursery classes if they like?
Parents drop off and pick up from the class room and if a child is having problems adapting the parents are encouraged to stay with their children to help them integrate, there are also monthly parent children activities or parties. However during the day parents are not encouraged since in disturbs the natural adaptation of their and other children to the guardaria and a childs first steps toward independence.

 - At what stage do you require parents to apply for a place for the following year?
By Late June we are normally full for P1 and babies although this year we have increased our capacity so we may have additional places available. There is nearly always limited space for 2 year olds.

 - What are the fees?
Prices range from €225 upto €425 meals typically an extra €135 per month extra
