Pregnancy and Post Natal
If it is possible that you are pregnant you should make an appointment to visit a specialist doctor at your health centre who, with the nurses and midwives, will monitor your pregnancy and carry out any necessary tests ( scans, analyses, etc) up to the moment of birth. The “carne de embarazada” ( pregnancy record book)
The midwife will give you a pregnancy record book where she will record the development of your pregnancy. You should carry it with you always, even when you go to the hospital for the birth. She will also inform you about the existence of antenatal classes taking place in the CAP.
After the birth you should continue to visit the specialist for regular gynocological check ups.
Family Planning
If you wish to get pregnant, or you do not want any more children, or if you want to use a method of contraception your CAP has a family Planning Team available to help you. Please note by constitutional right, in Spain and in the European Union, there is equal treatment and opportunity. If you are asked to be seen by a woman, the centre is not obliged to meet your request.
