Baby Sensory Classes

Baby Sensory classes provide sensory development activities that are great fun for parents and babies (birth to 13 months). Baby Sensory classes are now running weekly sessions in Sant Pere de Ribas. Classes are in English and Spanish.
The Baby Sensory programme consists of over 40 themed classes, so every week you will share new sensory experiences with your baby. Plus a discovery playtime, during which your baby can enjoy our exploratory play area whilst you have the opportunity to meet other parents. Activities incorporate every possible sensory experience including sign language, fibre optic light shows, amazing bouncy light balls, rainbows, bubbles, bells, holistic massage and much more. Baby Sensory is designed to encourage early development; all activities are excellent for developing physical, social and emotional, and language skills, co-ordination, awareness of the world, a love of music and the concentration.
They offer the first fun session as a free trial for you to come along and see what they do. Parents can join at any time and activities are suitable for all babies.

El primer dia la clase me pareció con poco ritmo, todos los bebés eran de edades diferentes y mientras unos se lo pasaban en grande, había otros que solo dormían, Yvonne estaba bastante nerviosa, ya que expresar toda la clase en otro idioma cuesta mucho, pero su dulzura con los bebés me animó a seguir con la siguiente clase y estoy muy contenta. Mi niña de 6 meses se lo pasa en grande en la clase, no para ni un segundo y cuando sale se encuentra muy tranquila y super contenta. "When I moved to Sitges I was 4 months pregnant and had a 3 year-old. I didn't know anybody and felt a little overwhelmed by the prospect of connecting with a new community in a new language. After just a few days I found Playgroup...it has been my salvation! All my friends have come directly or via Playgroup. My husband works from a home office so it would have been really hard for him to find new 'buddies' but through Playgroup he now has a group of 5 Dads who he socializes with. Because of Playgroup the business of setting up home was made so much easier. I found out information about phones, doctors, shops, schools and more through the Mums at Playgroup. "The classes at Sant Pere pool are very well thought out as the water is warm, they allow trolleys into the changing rooms, there are changing tables at the side of the pool and certificates/photos are issued at the end of the course after an open day when all the family can watch from the viewing gallery. The only negative could be the language barrier but hey we can all play 'follow my leader' can't we?!" (CB)

Dance Tickles - Sant Pere de Ribes

"Classes are for children from 5 upwards. I find it especially important, as my children both attend an international school here, that they partake in local extra-curricular activities. Although we wanted a British education for our children it seemed such a shame to isolate them for their local community and activities such as basket ball are a fantastic way to integrate. Really friendly instructors offer one to one lessons or lessons as part of a group. Very reasonable prices and some instructors can speak English. Children must be 7 and be able to swim proficiently. They also offer windsurfing, body boarding and snorkeling lessons.

Holiday Club and Birthday Parties

Planet English began life as an English academy but now has several strings to their bows! Holiday club is weekdays from 9.30am - 1.30pm during the school holidays and is a chance for children between 3 and 11 years old to meet up with other kids to play, do art and craft activities or games organized by monitors. Planet English also organize birthday parties on Saturday afternoons or Sunday mornings with face painting, tattoos,craft activities and games.

Children from the age of 8 can go out on routes with the ponies. For those who can not ride lessons are offered as part of a group or one to one. Lessons are bilingual (Spanish and English).

"I recently discovered Tikotta riding school in Canyelles. My children have been going to the esplai (summer school) there. They love it and so do I. Tikotta is set in acres of land with a rustic feel, you´d think you were in the middle of the countryside! The other day I watched my little boy `working´. He filled a wheelbarrow with hay, pushed it up a small hill and then fed an appreciative horse. His twin sister can be a handful. She´s infamous in Canyelles for her strong character, infact her name has been used as an adjective to describe willful unruly behaviour. In Tikotta they tell me she behaves well! I don´t know whether it´s the fresh air, the open space, the contact with horses or the easygoing atmosphere!" (ER)
