Science Museum

This is a must for curious kids. Many have heralded the museum as the best of its kind in Europe. The exhibitions are distributed throughout various rooms, including the Amazon Forest, the Geological Wall and the Planetarium. Visitors can interact with many of the scientific experiments, making the whole experience more entertaining. Admission: 3 euros. Free every 1st Sunday of the month . Open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 8pm. Closed on Mondays (except holidays)

There are usually offers at the Science museum, whereby you can use one ticket for entry there and also at other child-friendly locations such as the Zoo, the botanical gardens and the Maritime Museum

Barcelona Aquarium

This is the largest aquarium in Europe and includes a fun interactive space called Explora. Admission: Adults 13 euros. Children 4-12 years 9 euros. Under 4s free. There is also a yearly pass for 90 euros for 2 adults and 2 children, which also gives you discounts in the shop and cafe, and most importantly you don´t have to queue! Open 9:30am -9pm.

Nou Camp Tour

This is an absolute must for all football-mad kids. The guided tour of the third biggest football stadium in the world includes visiting the grounds and pitch area as well as the Barcelona FC Museum.

Cable Car ride

The kids will love the spectacular views over the city and the sea. Catch the cable far from the end of Paseo Joan de Borbó or from Montjuic. 3,70 euros for a single journey. 4,80 return. To get to Montjuic take the metro to Paral-lel and then the Funicular de Montjuic or get the tourist bus and get out at Montjuic stop or numbers 50, 55 or 61 local buses. 933289003

Marine Hospital

A marine hospital where you can see a dolphine intenstive care unit, stretchers and ambulances for transporting animals, as well as animals recovering from illness and injury. You can also view a presentation on the reasons why endangered species are in decline in the Mediterranean, learn about conservation projects and animal rescue work.  Price: General admission: 6 euros per person; children aged 5 to 12: 4 euros; children under 5: free

Parc del Laberint d' Horta

This 18th century Neoclassical Park with a maze is a hit with the kids. There are also some beautiful gardens to have a wander around. Admission 1,90 euros

Barcelona Zoo

Barcelona Zoo is in the Ciutadella Park and is open every day of the week but opening hours vary throughout the year. There is a children´s zoo and a train that runs around the park. For the lazier among you there are also electric cars which can take a family of four.

The zoo runs a very good summer school (casal) from 9 to 4pm and also can be used as a venue for birthday parties. You leave the kids for 2-3 hours and collect when the time is up – the birthday boy / girl gets to meet the dolphins – in person. There is also a great playground area for kids aged 2 . Every Saturday Zoo-Club organizes activities and games in the morning for children (4-11). The park is great for babies and toddlers because it is so clean and the grass is free from litter while providing well needed shade.

Catamaran Orsom

Barcelona´s largest Catamaran leaves from the bottom of Las Ramblas every day for sailing cruising lasting around an hour and a half.

Mirador Torre Collserola

Opened for the '92 Olympics, the telecommunications tower at Tibidabo is nearly 300 metres high and is accessed by an external glass lift giving great views of the city. Open wed-fri 11am-2.30pm and 3.30pm-7pm. . Entry 5 euros.
