  1. Garraf International School

    Garraf International School, which will open in September 2009, has been set up by a group of international parents and teachers living and working in the Garraf region of Catalunya, who want their children to attend a modern international day school that has: A Board of Governors to whom the head teacher and staff are accountable, an active Parents' Association, professional staff; an international curriculum, a holistic approach to education, an inclusive language policy, a wide range of extra-curricular activities and good links with the local community.
    Age of pupils
    In its first year the school will cater for children born between 1998 and 2003. In the second year of operation they plan to expand and accept children born between 1998 and 2006. The school will continue to expand each subsequent year and will eventually have pupils aged 2 to 18.
    Class size
    The maximum class size will be 20 pupils.
    Language policy
    In order to facilitate language learning, different subjects will be taught in different languages. As the school will be international, the core language will be English and this will be used to teach numeracy, literacy, science and technology, and humanities. Languages will be taught by native speakers. Wherever possible, physical education, drama, music, dance and art will be taught in Catalan or Castellano.

  2. ESCAAN

    Escaan International School has been an IB World School since January 2006. It offers the IB Diploma Programme. The educational programme is based on the British National Curriculum with an international perspective, which covers the educational phases from one year old to eighteen.

  3. Ecole Bel Air

    Ecole Bel Air is located just outside Sitges between St Pere de Ribes and Vilanova. The school enjoys a very good reputation and teaching is in French, following the French system. Pupils are from kindergarten through to 15 (currently)

    "They create the classes as the children move up every year ... All the teachers are French, except for Catalan and Castellan classes (given from age 3 onwards)...Jacques has been there for 7 years and is very happy, loves going to school, loves learning and is doing really well…don’t know if it is due to the quality of the school or the super intelligence of my wonderful son (!!!)".   4. Bon Soleil - Gava

    Bon Soleil School in Gava (approximately 20 minutes drive from Sitges), was ranked as one of Spain´s top 100 schools by El Mundo newspaper in 2007. The school follows the French education system with English, Spanish and Catalan as secondary languages. Founded in 1969, there are  currently 1080 pupils in the school and 71 members of staff.

    Recently taken over by the Cognita group chaired by the highly respected former UK Inspector of Schools Chris Woodhead, The British School is from 3 to 18 years and follows the UK curriculum. Spanish is introduced at 4 years and Catalan at aged 5. Located 20 kilometres from Barcelona in Castelldelfels, close to the beach and a bus service is available.
