  2. Port Aventura

    Hugely popular theme park. You can go for a day, a weekend or an even longer break if you fancy as they have hotels on site. You can be flung around eight inverted loops on Dragon Khan (supposedly the largest roller-coaster in Europe) or get soaked on Tutuki Splash. There are also shows with bubbles, birds of paradise, Mexican and Chinese themes.

  4. Tarragona - Roman Ruins

    Tarragona has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its ancient Roman monuments and ruins. A tourist train offers a scenic ride through the Tarragona port and the High District. Visitors can pick it up at its only stop, at the top of Rambla Vella, where the ride begins and ends.     It really is worth visiting these Roman ruins as they are by far the most well preserved Roman ruins in Spain. The amphitheatre, aqueduct and many other ruins remain impressively intact

    This really is a family day out (especially for those with pony mad kids). For siblings who aren´t too keen on horses there are other activites to keep them occupied but the focus is really on riding. During the summer there are plenty of kids running around as they offer summer camp for local children from 5-16 in English.
