Menorca boasts some truly stunning beaches, many of which are child-friendly because of their shallow waters. We've also listed some great parks & play-areas plus ideas for a rainy day. Please let us know if you have any other suggestions.

Santo Tomas Beach

Santo Tomas is located a little further west than Son Bou and through the village of Es Migjorn Gran. A long narrow strip of soft white sand but it can rocky in places. A very quiet resort with beach bars, water sports and parking facilities.

"Mahon library is good for kids on a rainy day. They have some toys, computers and you can take out books for a month and up to 4 dvds for free. They are very friendly and put up with our 2 noisy boys when we go. The books are labelled with stickers whether they are in Catalan or Castillian – there are just a few in English" (AH)
 

Binibeca Beach

Binibeca beach is on Menorca's south coast and is a wide sandy beach quite near Binibeca Vell. It is beautifully untouched, albeit a small restaurant and a car park.

Es Grau Beach

Situated to the north of Mahon, Es Grau is a large sandy beach backed by dunes, pines and tamarisk trees, leading to salt water lakes and marshes of the S'Albufera park. The sea is very shallow, making it ideal for small children to paddle. The whole area is a National Park. The small village of Es Grau provides a few bars, restaurants and shops.

Soft play centre. Caters for birthday parties. Entrance without time limit: € 6.50. Entrance 1 hour: € 4.50.
For children up to 11 years. Obligatory use of socks inside the enclosure.

Punta Prima Beach & Playground

Punta Prima is located to the east of Sant Lluis and is a large beach of fine white sand. It can be very rocky in places. Situated in a small resort with a good selection of bars and shops, easy parking right on the beach, sun beds and water sports etc. Can be windy so parents advised to keep an eye on children swimming.

Es Freginal Park, Mahon

This green park has several areas to sit in, have picnics, and see flower exhibits. This is also a popular spot for cultural events in Menorca. Many world class musicians perform on the stage of this park, particularly during the Jazz Festival.

Son Parc is a large white sandy beach on the north coast. It's ideal for kids as it's very shallow for the first 20-30 meters. Good parking near the beach, beach bar and water sports of all kinds.
