Poniente Beach is a family friendly beach nearer to the old town of Benidorm but still accessible for foot. There are lifeguards all year round and a range of watersports for older children. The sea is relatively shallow as it hits the beach so great for younger children and babies. Poniente beach has been awarded the blue flag, which is the maximum quality standard recognised by the European Union

"A bit of more of a walk than Levante beach, Poniente is slighly quieter, much bigger and definitely less stressful! The beach is really clean as they clean it every night meaning its free of cigarette butts and beer bottles from the night revellers!" (MM, Oct 08)

Levante beach is a sandy beach in the heart of Benidorm so you can go by foot. Popular with families the beach goes gradually into the water making it ideal for younger children and babies. There is an adventure platform further out to sea for the older children. All summer there is entertainment provided by the council as well as a variety of water sports. "This beach can get really overcrowded in the summer! Its a case of finding space to walk between all the towels but its well worth it if you are with kids. Parents with older children can rent a sun bed and leave the kids to go out to sea where there is a play area with diving boards, bridges, rafts, slides etc. Lifeguards are on hand so its not as dangerous as it seems!!"
