Located in the Playa San Juan area, Los Pelaos Park is an indoor play park for kids with a ball pall and an indoor maze. Great for rainy days or for tiring energetic kids out! The play park is used mainly for children´s parties, where the host gets to dress up as a king or queen. There is song time and face painting as well as a choice of birthday food.

Family Medical Centre is a new medical practice in Albir, offering a complete range of midwifery services including pre-conceptual care, complete pre-natal care (including blood tests and 4D Ultra-sound scans), an extensive preparation for childbirth course (including breathing and relaxation techniques) and post-natal care & support. Much of the work in the post-natal period is in helping mothers to establish successful breastfeeding and offering support and help to promptly resolve any breastfeeding difficulties.The emphasis is on a friendly, affordable health centre.
Run by Dawn and Amanda, who both have 15 years experiences as a midwife and nurse in Spain respectively, the support continues after the birth and they regularly see their babies for developmental checks and advice on things such as weaning and unsettled babies.
Dawn worked for 5 years in Hong Kong as a breastfeeding counsellor and also practiced midwifery in the hills of Nepal. Amanda, the Practice Nurse, offers all childhood immunizations and is a family planning and sexual health specialist so sees a lot of young families. Ann, the doctor is always available to deal with any childhood ailments. They also do school medicals, providing written reports in both English and Spanish.
Consultations (G.P. Nursing or Midwifery) cost 38 Euros and appointments are always booked for an hour.
They are easy to find on the main Avenida del Albir and there is a large free car park 2 minutes walk away.

"In July 2010 my partner and I discovered we were expecting, it wasn’t planned, so a little shock to the system. I don’t really speak much Spanish and have only been in Spain a while so although I have my SYP card I was really unsure of the Matron and the lack of information they were providing me. Then I discovered Dawn, a midwife working from Albir. What a delight! I went from dreading my pregnancy to loving every minute. I saw Dawn throughout my pregnancy, she gave us tips on what should be happening, breast feeding, child birth, birthing techniques and sent us for a 4D scan as well as the usual blood tests, urine tests and blood pressure. The most unique part of Dawn service is the openness and availability of her wealth of knowledge throughout the pregnancy....Whenever I panicked, i could pick up the phone and she would be able to help, guide and advise, superb!
My son was born in March 2011 and Dawn was one of the first people to phone me up and make sure everything was OK. She offered for us to come see her for measurements and checks on a regular basis and the support she provided was phenomenal (Spanish Matron see you once a month just about), so it was good to have this support in place.
