The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool, massage room, jacuzzi, sauna, tennis, 3 bars, a lounge room with real fire, a reading room and a health club. There are plenty of activities such as cycling, sailing, fishing, football, hiking, jogging, mountain biking, horseriding, snorkelling, swimming and tennis. They offer cots (for free) and separate beds (60€ IVA). If you need a babysitter please let the hotel know in advance. The hotel restaurant has a special children´s menu which can also be ordered via room service.

There is a babysitting service(so you can enjoy the spas and health treatments on offer!) as well as children´s entertainment (films and games). Cots and high chairs are available and the restaurants have children menus. For older children the following activities are available - ice skating, motor boating, boat launch, swimming, jet skiing, sailing, scuba diving, hiking/biking trails, skydiving, hunting and tennis.

Hotel Sant Joan

The hotel was renovated in the year 2000 and comprises a total of 21 rooms spread across a main building and an annex building. Located on a farm dating back to the 18th century, Hotel Sant Joan is situated in Palamós old town, about 900 m from the beach. It has a 550 m² garden with a swimming pool and hot water Jacuzzi. Restaurants, bars and clubs may be reached within a few minutes on foot.

Cots are available (6€ a day) and the restaurant has high chairs and a children´s menu. There are two outdoor swimming pools (one for children) with children’s play area, entertainment and games area. There is a wide range of activities available in the surrounding area, including diving (in some of the most impressive stretches of coastline on the Costa Brava), sailing, wind-surfing, excursions, athletics and cycling.

Facilities at this family-friendly hotel include children´s pool, outdoor pool set in gardens with terraces and sun beds. It also offers also an entertainment programme of shows, dancing and various contests for all the family (from 16/04 – 31/10). Les Medes is a friendly family campsite and has won several awards. The site is relatively small with just 172 pitches and it offers top class facilities. The campsite is in the countryside about 2km from centre of L'Estartit (with no public transport).

If you don't want to camp there are12 Bungalows to rent (access for handicapped, bath with bathtub and shower, TV, air-conditioning/heating, bed linen, equipped kitchen, microwave and fridge) and cots and bottle warmers. Highchairs are available.
A children’s pool with fountains is located behind the main pool -ringed by palms. The open air dance floor has music twice weekly (in season). An indoor pool (heated) with sauna and solarium. Good access for disabled campers. A great option out of season.
In July and August excursions, films and children´s entertainment are available

"My mum and dad have had a caravan at Kims Camping in Llafranc, which they have left there since I was about 14.  It is a great place for families, lots go there - British and Spanish mainly.  There is a big pool and football pitch, pool bar, restaurant etc.  The campsite is on a hill but doesn't seem to be a problem for most people.  You can camp, caravan or hire little chalets on the site.  It is about 10 mins walk to the beach - Llafranc or Calella beach.  Kims is a family run business and lots of families seem to go back every year" Helen Stacy

El convent Begur

El convent Begur is a beautifully converted monastery with exposed brickwork in the bedrooms, beautiful furnishings and a great outdoor pool. It is a ten minute walk to Sa Riera beach.

"A surprisingly good family option. Be aware there are lots of steps which would be its downside but they let us leave the pram downstairs in a safe place and we took Sofia up to our room in our arms each time. The hotel restaurant does a menu del día for 15€ which was excellent quality and then meant we were there ready to relax by the pool each afternoon. There is a lovely large garden area where the pool is - very well cared for grass which is excelllent for kids who are running around. There is a wooden building in the garden with a gym and sauna and a fresh water pool outside for an invigorating dip after the sauna. All included in the normal room rate. The hotel is about 500m from a nice beach, although with a 4 month old we prefered to stay by the pool on the grass under the trees. Close to lots of lovely child-friendly beaches, the closest being Sa Riera but also near Tamariu, Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell which are all delightful." (EW)

You can take your own tent, rent one there or even stay in one of the on site bungalows. There is a nice swimming pool with activities as well as a good play area for toddlers. La Siesta Camping

You can get chalets here that have 4 bedrooms for just 40 euros a night. Fully equipped kitchen and shower and WC. Generally attracts an international clientele. Just a very short walk to the beautiful beach of Calella de Palafrugell
