Family-friendly holidays in Mallorca

Family-friendly holidays in Mallorca Image

Mallorca is an easy-to-reach option for families after beautiful white sand and crystal clear waters, amazing landscapes, wonderful mountains and affordable mediterranean food. With a coastline of more than 550km, in high season the island receives about 8 million  tourists.
The main tourist areas are on the southern and eastern coast but places may be crowded in high season. More secluded and quiet beaches can be found on the island but the roads can be a little difficult to naviate
There is much to see of the island if you venture inland also with lots of options for cycling and hiking.
Geographically the island can be divided into three parts. The Serra de Tramuntana rocks extend from south-west to north-east, while the Serra de Llevant stretches along the eastern coast.

"Punta de Vistalegre villa was a wonderful place to stay on our trip to Mallorca! We are a family with three young sons ages 6, 4 and 2. The villa felt like home with nice touches like local pottery and glass. It was great to go to the markets and buy local produce and come back to the villa and make dinner instead of wrangling children at a busy restaurant. The owner's were very accommodating and met our every need. Thanks to their recommendations we found one of the most beautiful unspoiled beaches on earth (Cala Varques) and spent 2 whole days there swimming, snorkeling and exploring the caves. We would highly recommend Punta de Vistalegre villa" (Rui, April 2012)
