What was your experience of relocating to Spain with children?
It was very easy as we had been on holiday in the area lots as my mum had a holiday home in La Marina. So we new the area.
How well integrated would you say you and your children are?
My three youngest children speak fluent Spanish and love their Spanish school.
What language do you speak to your children?
English & Spanish
What is your impression of childcare and education in Spain so far?
I have no problems so far!
What school do your children go to?
Rojales
Why did you choose this school and are you happy with your choice?
I had heard good reports and it was the only one with Commodore and was the nearest to us.
Where you live, how good are the facilities for children (shops, restaurants, activities etc)?
There are a few things to do for the kids although for Connor there is a lack of activities the only thing he really has is football
Are there any particular activities, groups, classes etc for children in Quesada that you would like to recommend?
Red monkeys has lots for the kids - disco, play area and homework club. Dance Extreme for the girls And now the boys, and Junior kickers (football) for the boys
Are there any particular service providers (doctors, dentists, babysitters, tutors etc) for children in Quesada that you would like to recommend?
Homework club at Red Monkey’s and they are also starting a babysitting club.
What do you think are the main advantages and disadvantages of being a parent from the International Community living in Quesada?
The language barrier can be a disadvantage but having my English friends is an advantage as we all help one another.
Is there anything you think would improve children’s lives in Quesada?
Something more for the older children
What advice would you give for anyone having a baby or thinking of relocating to Spain with children?
Make sure you do your research and ensure that at least one of you has a job before you relocate. Jobs can be very hard to find.
What couldn´t you live without in Spain?
The sunshine!
What could you live without in Spain?!
The paperwork! Everything you seem to do involves paperwork!
