My family and I have recently moved to Madrid and live in Alcobendas. We would like to meet up with other mothers in our area if possible (to avoid having to drive into the centre all the time). I have 2 small children: a boy of 3 years and a girl of 16 months. Please let me know if anyone would be interested in meeting us!

Sara - is that you?! If not, I know of someone with exactly your profile in Alcobendas and can put you in touch!

Ha! Oh well. I tried :)

Hey, I went to a Mums and Toddlers group the other day, I think it was set up by Mountainview church but it's just a group of mums who get together each Wednesday morning and take turns to hold it at their houses. It was really nice hanging out with lots of English speaking mums in a similar situation to us. One of them mentioned that there were a few expat mums out Alcobendas way, so maybe if you come along to something like this you would be able to get in contact with them.

Anyway, I will email you soon. I will be brave and drive to Alcobendas one morning next week if you fancy meeting up. You too Helen - I have a 28month old and a 9 month old, so bridge the gap a bit :)

Helen - heh that´s great. I live right next to Soto so meeting up would be easy.

Louisa - it would be great if you were around next week at some point. Let me know if you have a day which would suit you best and we can arrange to see Helen as well.

    Hi there,

I just became a stay at home mom :) I have a one month old and I live in Alcobendas (Valdelasfuentes, by the train station). I´m originally from Cordoba, but have lived abroad for 13 years and just recently moved to Madrid to give Spain a chance :) I need to meet people during the week (so not used to staying at home and not seeing anyone!), and would love to continue to interact with English speakers on are regular basis (lived in the US and Ireland for 7 and 5 years respectively).

Don´t know if this thread became too old. But if there is anyone out there who is still interested, please get in touch with me!

Hi, not sure if anyone will see this as the thread seems to have died, but I am also new to Spain and at home with my 23 month old little boy. We are living in Madrid temporarily until the end of June before we move near to alicante.

If anyone would like to meet up with us then please do get in touch!
I am living near to Plaza De España and my email is caroline@grzk.com :-)
