    Hi,
I wonder if anyone could give me some help please.

We are moving to Boadilla del Monte in July (my partner is already out there and has been since September working) I am looking for my youngest son to start school and though I have researched the schools, I am unsure about what exactly I need to do to register him at a school.
I wonder if anyone could help please,
    Many thanks
    Ali

    Hi Ali

Is it a Spanish public/concertado school you were thinking of or a private one?

I ask this as they have different application procedures. I have no personal expierence of Private schools but I think their matriculation period is more flexible and is open all year and/or at various times throughout the year. Public and Concertado schools have an official period for application which is coming up very soon, it opens from the 21st March to 11th April for Madrid. This is the best time to apply as doing it ouside of the official period is much more tricky.

There is a points system and obviously you would need to have an idea of which school you would like to apply for.
You would then need to download the application form which is available at www.madrid.org. You need to look for "Proceso admision de alumnos 20011/2012"
Sorry I can´t do a link. You can hand in the form directly to the school of your choice.

You will need a "certificado de empadronamiento" which you can get from the local ayuntamiento but I am sure will know about this from your husband

If you have anymore specific questions then please email again and I will try to help. It can be a bit of a minefield and very overwhelming!

    Jo
