We're moving from Australia to Barcelona in August and are presently trying to decide between Hamelin Primary and Europa School. Are there any parents who could shed some light on the positives and negatives of either of these schools and or suggest some alternatives? The children are 8 & 10 and as of now do not speak any Spanish. Many thanks, Seahorse

    Hi there
By 2014, Hamelin is expanding and will be based in Montgat with new facilities (and many more pupils)

Thank-you for this article. I would still love to hear any comments from parents at the schools particularly Hamelin. Thanks Irene (Seahorse)

My children are in the Europa, and we're very happy with it. We feel they get an all-round education. The school is strong on discipline and on extracurricular activities (sports, music, dance), and the facilities are excellent. There are quite a few expats there, and children who have just joined get extra tuition in Spanish. You may wish to get in touch with the Director if you're looking to start the next school year there. Bear in mind that if you plan to live in alella, the Europa is probably too far away. Still, Sant Cugat is absolutely great for a family to live in.
