Toy Box
Recommended by John
An English nursery for babies from 12 months of age. Toy Box began in 1994 when an English mother, inspired by the need to provide her own children with an English-speaking environment, pioneered Granada's first English nursery. The building is set in 800 square metres of private grounds. Half of this space is devoted to lawn and adventure playground, as well as a plot for the children's vegetable and flower garden. There is a hard surface area for bikes and trikes and fantasy areas beneath the low- hanging branches of the trees. Toy Box nursery school is the only true all English establishment in the province aside from the Almuñecar International School, which is some 60km away.

Comments:
Practically all the pupils, from age 1 to 6 years old are Spanish, they generally have about 5% of native English parents. They like to consider theirselves as a little part of England in Spain and promote all kinds of cultural aspects of British life as well as speaking English all the time. They follow a British/Spanish curriculum and practise the Montessori methodology. They have set and built some high standards of education over the years and will celbrate our 20th anniversary next year.
They also operate an after school club twice per week, a Summer School in August and recently have started a service of home tutoring for children and parents who would like to speak or improve their English language skills.

"Thank you so much for taking very well care of Zoe, she absolutely loves being in the kindergarten every day she can make it. We would like to say that we would highly recommend Wonderland to anybody, and we know that they care really well for the children that attend there" (Sonia and Nic, Dec 12)
"I would like to thank you for the time my daughter spent with you. In the short time she was with you, you all made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The effort that you have put into each room is amazing and goes hand in hand with the attention and care you provide to the children not to mention the fun factor! I never felt uncomfortable or nervous about dropping her off and Bella went in happily obviously knowing she would be taken care of and have lots to do. I would and will recommend you to anyone and everyone!!" (Rachael and Bella)
